At ADSNETON, the role of a System Administrator is pivotal in ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of our in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. This position will require you to manage and tune in-house systems and infrastructure to provide a higher level of service to our various clients and internal teams. You will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems. The System Administrator will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments. This is a dynamic role that bridges several aspects of IT and requires deep knowledge of relevant technologies and systems.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required.
  2. 3+ years of system administration experience, with a strong background in Windows/Linux server environments.
  3. Experience with server virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, etc.
  4. Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
  5. Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl, or other language.
  6. Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) and monitoring tools.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
    2. Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
    3. Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.
    4. Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
    5. Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
    6. Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
    7. Provide 2nd and 3rd level support.
    8. Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
    9. Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
    10. Establish, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
